A Letter From Tampa Personal Injury Attorney Cody Fowler Davis
I grew up into the legal profession the way some people grow up to take over the family business. My grandfather, after whom I was named, was president of the American Bar Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers, and founded the Tampa law firm that is now known as Fowler White Boggs. My father was a judge and law school professor. My brother was a member of the Florida legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives, and today is a lawyer in Tampa and Washington, D.C. I didn't have a choice but to go into the practice of law.
Upon my graduation from Florida State College of Law in 1984, I joined one of the oldest and most prestigious firms in Tampa. Many young lawyers don't get to try a lot of cases. However, my boss had a heart attack and I was forced into the courtroom at a young age. I was your basic workaholic, handling insurance defense and complex commercial litigation. Life was good. I became one of the youngest partners in the history of the firm.
Then one day a family came to me and asked me to sue a corporation for the death of their only child. My hard work resulted in a substantial recovery for the parents. Their appreciation and love changed how I viewed the practice of law.
That experience led me to leave my previous firm and start Davis & Harmon. Later, due to philosophical differences with my partners at the firm, I struck out again in 2010 to start Cody Fowler Davis Trial Attorneys. I also met a young and extremely talented trial lawyer, Jonathan Brozyna, who reminded me a lot of myself. Like me, Jonathan was a collegiate tennis player — and tennis players tend to bet on themselves. Jonathan had also tried a lot of cases at a young age.
My experience has shown me that optimal results in a personal injury case are attained by having skilled trial attorneys working on all aspects of your case. No one who has lost a family member or suffered a life-changing injury wants his or her case to be handed off to a junior associate who has never seen the inside of a courtroom. We created Cody Fowler Davis Trial Attorneys based on the philosophy of personal service. Jonathan and I will closely work with you during every phase of your case.
